May 28, Saturday, 1:00 PM – Bach and Mozart in the Magical Atmosphere of the Maronite Church in Gush Halav

Concert in Gish15 minutes from Or Bereshit Cabin, a cabin in the North in Amirim, you will find the pastoral village of Gush Halav (Jish)

Passover has passed, but it left us with the wonderful and unique scents of spring, and the forecast ahead is very pleasant.

The greenery still dominates, and the clear air around us is stunning.
This is just the “backdrop” for what awaits those who will join us for the big and impressive Gush Halav event this time…
100 people on stage, including a leading team from the Philharmonic and the Israeli Opera, will undoubtedly make the day worthwhile
to travel north for, and even to book seats in advance (with Itzik) – ticket sales are in full swing.
For the first time, we decided on a pre-concert “appetizer” in the form of a tour-trip to several sites, less known to most of us.
We would, of course, be happy if you would tell and send information about the upcoming concert to your friends, and indeed, the entire Galilee, especially the Upper Galilee, looks and feels different when you join and share the pleasures with us.
Greetings and Happy Holiday
See you, Rami Ganor 0544322136

Another exciting concert in the Mostly Mozart in the Galilee series.

Spring 2016 – Peak Migration Season at Hula Lake Park in the North

38 km, 34 minutes drive from the cabin in Amirim in the North you will find Hula Lake Park. During these days, the peak of migration season, huge flocks of cranes, pelicans, storks, and many other bird species arrive here. They pass through the skies of Israel on their way from Europe to Africa, and if you look up, there’s a chance you’ll catch “clouds of birds” crossing the skyline. Radar images taken at night show that Israel is located in the heart of an international highway through which hundreds of millions of birds pass during the spring and again in the autumn months. Worth a visit in the North.

Until the End of April – Oriental Hyacinth Bloom in Mount Meron Nature Reserve in the North

22 km, 25 minutes drive from the cabin in Amirim in the North to Mount Meron. In the Mount Meron Reserve, the hyacinth is expected to bloom until April. The hyacinth is a geophyte with a perennial bulb. Its narrow leaves are concentrated at the base of the plant, and the bell- or funnel-shaped flowers are arranged in a cluster on an unbranched inflorescence stalk.

The name’s origin is in Greek mythology. Hyacinth (Hyakinthos) was the name of a beautiful youth, son of King Pireus of Macedonia, with whom Apollo, the Olympian god, fell in love. When Apollo competed with Hyacinth in discus throwing, other gods who were in love with the youth became jealous and caused the discus thrown by Apollo to strike Hyacinth’s head. The youth died, and from his blood, a plant bearing his name grew.

This coming Friday, April 29, we will open the summer performances for 2016 at Mitzpe Kinneret in Amirim.

After that, there will be performances on the first three weekends of June, and then in July and August.

This coming Friday, April 29, Eran Zamir will perform for the first time at Mitzpe Kinneret at 5:30 PM.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy after a particularly busy week, and also to tell others about it and send guests to the performance.

sirena_picA few words about Eran Zamir’s performance:

Alongside the release of his album, “Complementary Contrasts,” an album featuring 14 musicians, Eran is embarking on a new, particularly atmospheric solo show, in which he combines elements of Arabic music with a lot of electricity.

The Sirena, a unique instrument invented by Eran, is composed of an oud neck with an electric guitar body, and is essentially a new instrument that combines worlds: on one hand, the world of guitar, electronics, and rock and roll, and on the other hand, the world of Arabic music.

You are invited to close your eyes, let go, drift off, and let the music soak in, permeate, resonate, and take you, tell you stories, touch you..

Passover Activities: Horses in the Forest 2015 – in Amirim

Activities with Horses in AmirimIntroduction: Our goal is to create and enable a close and deep acquaintance with a wonderful world, the world of horses and other animals, a world of connection to nature through listening and true observation.
In today’s fast-paced and computerized world, it’s easy to get lost and forget the true, rooted place, the place where everyone can be exactly who they are, a space where every dream is possible.
To exist joyfully by using the gifts that nature around us provides..

The goal is to allow children a time of simple and natural childhood like in the past, to feel the earth, to touch and listen to animals, to get scratched by thorns, to move with the body and not through the computer:
Natural curiosity is a powerful tool for personal learning. Therefore, even if we planned a specific activity, but we see that curiosity is aroused in another direction, we change the original plan and go with the flow of curiosity.
In the encounter with horses and in the various activities done with and around them, we create the space where experiential, sensory, emotional learning is possible, arising from the heart..
And also accompaniment of emotional psychological processes.

In our work, emphasis is also placed on the following educational approaches: cooperation and non-competitiveness, personal and group mutual aid, attention and sensitivity to people, animals, and the nature around us.
And more.

Part of the goals: immense enjoyment, creation of self-confidence, personal ability and capability.
Connection to the environment and society. A sense of responsibility and power to act in our world. Social gathering.
And more.

Topics we will cover

o Getting to know the horses, catching, leading, brushing, experiential riding (without a saddle with special equipment)

o Group exercises with horses for team building and developing observation and sensitivity skills.

o Learning and practicing brushing, equipment, and basic riding. And also riding without accompanying equipment.

o Intuition exercises, learning about the horse’s body language. Connecting to our own body language.

o Riding with eyes closed, practicing spatial orientation, physical balance, trust, direct communication with the environment.

o Horse games

o Learning and practicing vaulting and trick riding.

o Field trips in an experiential way, riding, in pairs. (one leads, the other rides and they switch)

o Learning and observing the life of horse herds in nature, how and what we can gain for our lives from this observation.

o Continuing the previous topic, practicing sneaking into a horse herd.

o Continuing the previous topic, practicing sneaking into a horse herd.

No prior experience is required in any of the areas we will cover, suitable for all ages (we encourage multi-generational participation)
